Connect Ghost

Let StrideRank post new articles on your Ghost site — a custom integration, about three minutes.

Last updated October 13, 2026

Before you start

  • You need to be an Administrator or Owner in Ghost — only they can add integrations.
  • Your Ghost site must be reachable over https on the standard port (443). Ghost(Pro) sites (*.ghost.io) always are.
  • StrideRank uses the Admin API key, not the Content API key. The Content API key can only read.

Connect step by step

  1. Add a custom integration

In Ghost Admin, open Settings → Integrations and click Add custom integration. Give it a name such as “StrideRank” and click Create.

  2. Copy the Admin API key and API URL

Ghost shows the keys of the new integration. Copy the Admin API key — it looks like two codes joined by a colon — and the API URL.

  3. Open the publishing settings

In StrideRank, open Autopilot → Settings and go to Publishing. During setup, the step-by-step guide on the connect step does the same. Only owners and admins of the account can change the connection. Choose Ghost.

  4. Enter the details

Paste the API URL into Ghost address (without /ghost at the end) and the key into Admin API key.

  5. Save and test

Click Save connection, then Test connection. The test reads one post through the Admin API and reports the first problem it finds.

Good to know

  • Each article arrives as one HTML card, so its layout stays exactly as written. You can still edit it in the Ghost editor.
  • The featured image is linked from our image storage; images inside the text stay where they are.
  • Structured data for the article goes into the post’s own code injection (head), so search engines see it.
  • You can choose to have articles created as drafts in Ghost instead of published straight away.
  • If your Ghost runs headless and the articles appear on another website, enter that site’s blog address as the canonical address so search engines know where the article lives.

Questions

Can I use the Content API key?

No. The Content API key can only read published content. Publishing needs the Admin API key of a custom integration.
