Rewrite an article

Get a fresh version of a failed or rejected article.

Which articles can be rewritten

  • Failed articles — for example after a failed quality check or a publishing error.
  • Rejected articles that had already been written.
  • Not possible: a topic you rejected before it was written (that topic is dropped), and articles that are planned, waiting for approval or live.

How to rewrite

  1. Open the article

Go to Autopilot → Articles and open the failed or rejected article.

  2. Click Rewrite

    Click Rewrite and confirm.

  3. Wait a few minutes

The autopilot writes the article for the same keyword from scratch and runs the quality check again. In approval mode it then waits for your approval; with autopublish it goes live if it passes.

Rewrites and your monthly allowance

A rewrite counts as one article of your monthly allowance, because it costs the same research and writing as a new one. If the allowance for this month is used up, the rewrite is refused with a clear message and becomes possible again on the 1st.

The old text stays visible until the new one is ready. It cannot be published by accident in between: only articles waiting for approval can be approved.

Questions

Can I rewrite an article that is already live?

Not with Rewrite. You can change its title, slug and meta under Title & meta; approving it again updates the post on your website.
