What the connection does
- StrideRank imports impressions and clicks from Search Console once a day and shows them in the overview and in your weekly report.
- After each published article, StrideRank submits your sitemap (
https://your-site/sitemap.xml) to Search Console so Google knows there is something new. If that fails, the article is still published. - Without Search Console, StrideRank shows no search numbers at all — never made-up zeros.
Before you start
- Your website must be added and verified in Google Search Console with the Google account you will connect. Properties where that account is not verified are not offered.
- You need to be an owner or admin of your StrideRank account.
- The connection belongs to one website. With several websites, connect each one.
Connect step by step
Open the Google settings
In StrideRank, open Autopilot → Settings and find the Google card. Click Connect with Google.
Sign in and allow access
Sign in with the Google account that has access to your Search Console property. Google asks for your email address (to show “Connected as …”), Search Console and Business Profile. Allow at least Search Console; if you untick it, StrideRank cannot read any numbers.
Choose your property
Back in StrideRank, choose your website in Search Console property and save. Both property types work — a domain property (
sc-domain:example.com) and a URL-prefix property (https://example.com/).Wait for the first numbers
Google reports the most recent days only as preliminary data, so StrideRank imports days that are three to five days old. The first numbers usually appear within a few days.
Google Business Profile
StrideRank can post a short update with a link to every new article on your Google Business Profile. The code for this is ready, but Google has to approve API access for our app first — and that approval is still pending.
- Until Google approves it, loading your Business Profile locations shows “Google has not approved this access yet”, and no posts are made.
- Search Console does not depend on this approval and works independently.
- You do not need to do anything later: if you choose a location once access is approved, posts start with the next published article.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect in the Google card. StrideRank stops importing data and asks Google to revoke its access. If Google does not confirm, you can remove access yourself at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting also works after a subscription has ended.
If something goes wrong
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| This Google account has no Search Console property | Add and verify your website in Search Console first, then reconnect. |
| Search Console access was not granted | You unticked Search Console on Google’s screen. Connect again and allow it. |
| The Google sign-in took too long or was opened in another browser | Start again and finish in the same browser within ten minutes. |
| Google access has expired or was revoked | Connect again. |
| Only owners and admins can connect Google | Ask an owner or admin of your account. |
Questions
Can StrideRank change anything in my Search Console?
StrideRank reads search performance and submits your sitemap after a new article. It does not change settings, users or properties.
Why does StrideRank show no clicks yet?
Either Search Console is not connected or no property is selected, or Google has not reported data yet. Google’s numbers arrive with a delay of a few days.
