What is measured
Once a week (on Wednesday, in your website’s time zone) StrideRank searches Google for your most important keywords and records three things per keyword:
- Does Google show an AI Overview for it?
- Is your website cited as a source in that AI Overview?
- Which other websites are cited (up to three)?
“Most important” means up to 10 keywords per website — approved or already used for an article — ordered by monthly searches.
Reading the results
| Result | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Cited | Google showed an AI Overview, and your website is one of its sources. |
| Not cited | Google showed an AI Overview, but your website is not among its sources. |
| No AI Overview | Google showed no AI Overview for this keyword in that week. |
Next to each keyword you also see which other websites were cited. They show you who Google currently trusts for that question — often a good hint for the next article.
What it does not measure
- Only Google AI Overviews. Mentions in ChatGPT, Perplexity or other assistants are not checked.
- It is a weekly snapshot. AI Overviews change often, and a single week says little; look at the trend over several weeks.
- When Google shows no AI Overview for a keyword, that is recorded as “No AI Overview” — not as “not cited”.
Availability
The check is part of the Pro plan and starts with the first Wednesday after your keywords are approved. It also needs an active subscription and is paused when the month’s processing budget is used up.
