Before you start
StrideRank creates each article as a live item in one CMS collection of your Webflow site (usually your blog posts). The collection must have these fields:
| Field slug | Type | Receives |
|---|---|---|
name | Plain text (Webflow’s built-in Name field) | Article title |
slug | Slug (built-in) | URL slug |
post-body | Rich Text | Article content |
These are the slugs of Webflow’s blog template. If your collection uses other fields, map them under Field mapping (advanced) — see Map your own fields below. The content field must be a Rich Text field; the connection test checks that.
Connect step by step
Create a site API token
In Webflow, open your site settings, go to Apps & integrations → API access and generate a token. Give it CMS access with read and write permission. Copy the token.
Find the collection ID
Open the CMS collection settings of your blog collection in the Webflow Designer and copy its Collection ID — 24 characters of letters and numbers.
Open the publishing settings
In StrideRank, open Autopilot → Settings and go to Publishing. You can also connect during setup (step 3). Only owners and admins of the account can change the connection. Choose Webflow.
Enter the details
Paste the Collection ID and the API token. In Blog address, enter the https address under which the collection pages appear, for example
https://example.com/blog. Webflow does not tell us the public address of an item, so StrideRank builds the link from this address and the slug.Save and test
Click Save connection, then Test connection. The test reaches your site with the saved details and reports the first problem it finds. A connection that has been saved but not tested shows “saved — not tested yet”.
Map your own fields
Below the connection details, open Field mapping (advanced). For each field, enter the slug of the matching field from your collection settings (letters, numbers, - and _). Title, slug and content start with the template slugs; leave them as they are if they fit. Optional fields left empty are not filled.
| Field | Default | Receives |
|---|---|---|
| Title | name | Article title |
| Slug | slug | URL slug |
| Content | post-body | Article content (must be Rich Text) |
| Meta title | — | SEO title |
| Meta description | — | Meta description |
| Featured image | — | First article image (must be an Image field) |
| Summary | — | The meta description as a short summary |
Save and test again after changing the mapping. The test checks that every mapped field exists in the collection and has the right type.
Good to know
- Items are created live (not as drafts) and appear on your published site straight away.
- When you change an article that is already live and approve it again, StrideRank updates the same Webflow item instead of creating a new one.
- Featured images and extra fields (meta title, meta description, summary) are only filled when they are mapped under Field mapping (advanced). Unmapped, they stay empty.
| Message | What to check |
|---|---|
| Webflow rejected the credentials | The token and its CMS read and write permission. |
| The Webflow collection ID is invalid | Copy the 24-character Collection ID again. |
| The Webflow collection has no field … | A mapped field slug does not exist in the collection — by default name, slug or post-body. Fix the slug in the field mapping. |
| … must be a Rich Text field | Map the content to a Rich Text field, or change the field type in Webflow. |
| … must be an Image field | Map the featured image to an Image field, or leave it empty. |
Questions
Does StrideRank publish my whole Webflow site?
No. It only creates or updates items in the one collection you entered. Other pages and collections are not touched.
