Google Maps rank check for med spas
Clients rarely search “med spa”. They search the treatment: botox, filler, laser hair removal, and they book whichever clinic looks right in the map results. Check how your med spa ranks for each one.

How med spas get picked on Google Maps
The treatment is the search
For “botox near me” you compete with dermatologists, plastic surgeons and solo injectors, not just other med spas. Google matches the treatment name to your services, your site and what reviews mention. Many clients book near work, for a lunch-hour visit, not near home.
Booking windows before the big day
Nothing here is an emergency, but demand bunches before weddings, holidays and summer. “Open Saturday” and “same week” matter then. Accurate hours and a booking link save the client a phone call.
Primary categoryMedical spa
- Laser hair removal service
- Skin care clinic
- Facial spa
“Medical spa” fits clinics with medical oversight that offer injectables and lasers. Use the secondaries for treatments that are a real part of your business, not for every device you own.
Pick each name from Google’s list as you type; Google renames categories now and then.
How med spas check their rank by hand
Private window, set location, no ads counted: the basic method.
One treatment per check
Search “botox”, “lip filler” and “laser hair removal” separately. Your rank can be very different for each.
Note who you are up against
Mark which results are medical practices and which are spas. That shows who you are really competing with for each treatment.
Search near office districts
Many clients come at lunchtime. Check from the business districts close to your clinic.
What costs med spas their spot
Treatments missing from your services
If microneedling is not in your services and has no page on your site, Google has little reason to show you for it. List every treatment you want booked.
Treatment names added to the business name
“Glow Med Spa – Botox & Filler” breaks Google’s naming rules unless that is your registered name. Put the treatments in services, not in the name.
What the free check shows you
Free, once
For med spas it reads the category on your Google Business Profile (usually “Medical spa”) and searches that around your listing. No profile found means “not checked”, never a guess.
- The med spas above you, with stars, reviews and distance
- Your profile next to theirs, category “Medical spa” first
- A 5 × 5 grid from the report email
StrideRank, every week
On a paid plan the grid runs every week for 3 keywords of your choice (10 on Pro), for example “botox near me” next to “med spa near me”, so you see whether a change moved you.

hello@striderank.comWhy does a dermatologist rank above my med spa for “botox near me”?
For treatment searches Google looks at every business that offers the treatment. Practices with many reviews and a strong medical profile often lead. A clear services list, a page per treatment and reviews that name the treatment help you compete.
Can each injector have their own Google profile?
Practitioners can have their own listing under Google’s rules. That can bring more visibility but also splits reviews between profiles. Many clinics keep one main profile and add practitioners only for well-known injectors.
Does online booking help my Maps ranking?
Google has not said so, and owners’ tests are mixed. Booking online helps clients act once they find you, and that matters just as much.
